A view to agecroft tower chimneys across open commonland on a summers day. The warmth of the day is captured beautifully and the colours used in the house rooftops indicate this, Behind them is the line of cooling towers and surrounding chimney stacks, a common sight in this particular area. Gordon painted this in the early part of this Century with reflection to the early part of his time when studying and capturing industrial landscapes through the medium of oil was a major part of his life. The cooling towers were demolished in May 1994.
